Offset Lithography

SINCE THE 20TH CENTURY, offset lithography has been the standard commercial printing method around the world. Offset printing is based on the principle of how oil and water do not mix. The image area, composed of art and text, contains oil and the non-image area has water, leaving the non-printed areas ink free.

Benefits: produces a high quality image, is cost-effective, and can be used for high volume quantities

Drawbacks: not practical for small volume quantities, requires care and maintenance of printing plates

Common Applications: business cards, postcards, postcards, and glossy brochures
